The Asian Conference for Lactic Acid Bacteria (ACLAB) is a biannual event which is one of the activities facilitated by the Asian Federation of Societies for Lactic Acid Bacteria (AFSLAB). Each of the member countries of AFSLAB takes turn to host this event. In 2015, Thailand is honoured to host the 8th ACLAB which will be held on 8th - 10th July 2015 at the Emerald Hotel, Bangkok. This conference is organised by a group of Thai scientists who are working in the field of lactic acid bacteria and the Department of Biotechnology of the Faculty of Agro-Industry, Kasetsart University.

The objective of the conference is to provide the opportunity for researchers from academia and industry to assemble and discuss and exchange the latest research information on the roles and industrial applications of lactic acid bacteria.

The event will be conducted in English and will focus on the topic “Health, Sustainability, Friendly Environment and Application” and is extended to cover prebiotics and probiotics area by a symposium on “Prebiotics and Probiotics, Health Benefits and Applications” and a special afternoon session by the International Scientific Association for Probiotics and Prebiotics (ISAPP). The pre-conference on “Microbiota as a Future Medical Tool for Better Health” is another attractive session that will undoubtedly make this event more fruitful.

The scope of the conference includes, but is not limited to, the following topics:
• Gut microbiota and host interaction
• Application of lactic acid bacteria and related product
• Molecular genetics and innovation in lactic acid bacteria
• Symposium on “Prebiotics and Probiotics, Health Benefits and Applications”

Dear colleagues,

It is a great honour for Thailand to host the 8th ACLAB which will be held on 8th - 10th July 2015 at the Emerald Hotel, Bangkok. This year’s theme, “Health, Sustainability, Friendly Environment and Application”, focuses on an important aspect of lactic acid bacteria on the health of both human and animals. Famous scientists in this area from around the globe have agreed to be present at this conference as keynote and invited speakers. Moreover, we are pleased that this year the International Scientific Association for Probiotics and Prebiotics (ISAPP) will jointly organise an afternoon session and they will undoubtedly set the tone for a very lively conference. We are confident that this conference will be rewarding for all participants and will, once again, provide an opportunity to promote communication among academics, researchers, and industrialists who are interested in working on lactic acid bacteria. We wish the 8th ACLAB to be an opportunity not only for sharing ideas and experiences but also for establishing and extending friendships among scientists with common interests from all over the world.

We look forward to welcoming you all to Bangkok and the 8th ACLAB!

Dear colleagues,

It is my great pleasure to welcome you on behalf of the Asian Federation for Lactic Acid Bacteria (AFSLAB) and to invite you to attend the next International Conference at the 8th Asian Conference on Lactic Acid Bacteria (ACLAB8) which will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, on July 8-10, 2015. The Conference will be held in the joint meeting with the Symposium of Prebiotics and Probiotics, Health Benefits and Application. There will be also a special dedicated lecture session arranged by the International Scientific Association for Probiotics and Prebiotics (ISAPP). AFSLAB is the Federation consists of the Association of Lactic Acid Bacteria from 13 counties in Asian area including Thailand. The Conference has been held in every second year until now. The last Conference has been held in India, 2013.

ACLAB8 is organized by Thailand Lactic Acid Bacteria Research Group and Kasetsart University and will be held under the general theme “Health Sustainability and Friendly Environment and Application”. I would like to express my sincere gratitude and thank all local organizing committee especially Profs Sunee Nitisinprasert and Vichien Leelavatcharamas (Kasetsart University) as a representative director of IEBC members of AFSLAB for their tireless efforts in organizing this conference. I also thank all generous sponsors for their financial support.

This conference promises to provide our most exciting and rewarding opportunities to learn the recent advances against all attendances including the researchers from academia and/or company and students, through participating in presentation and discussion with the key note and guest speakers. I hope this will result in fruitful and passionate discussions. I also expect you have a wonderful time and that you are able to strengthen your personal and professional networks. I would like very much to count you among the conference participants, and I encourage you to register and make plans to join AFSLAB members and friends in Bangkok in July, 2015.

I am very much looking forward to seeing you in Bangkok in 2015.

Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to cordially invite you to join us at the 8th ACLAB and participate in enhancing our global network of scientists working on lactic acid bacteria. This year’s full 3 day event is packed full with the main programme of the conference and additional programmes i.e. the pre-conference on “Microbiota as a future medical tool for better health” and a special session by the International Scientific Association for Probiotics and Prebiotics (ISAPP). A series of special lectures in this event will be delivered by keynote speakers who have made significant contributions to the areas of gut microbiota/host interactions, molecular genetics and application of lactic acid bacteria and their related products.

Do not to hesitate to revisit this web site should you wish to keep in touch with our progress and examine the conference timetables and schedules.
