Sightseeing has not been arranged by the conference organisers. However, tourist information and a map are included in the registration pack.
Tips for touring in Bangkok:
The most convenient forms of public transport in Bangkok are the underground train (MRT) and the sky train (BTS). However, not all parts of Bangkok can be reached by them. Tickets for MRT and BTS are not linked and they must be purchased separately.
Taxis in Bangkok are metered. Do not use non-metered taxis.
Traffic congestion is worst during the rush hours (morning, 7.30 – 9.00 am: evening, 5.00-7.00 pm) of weekdays. If there is heavy rain just prior to, or during these hours, congestion will be extremely bad. The traffic in the early afternoon of Saturdays also can be bad.
